BRIAN & JILL COMEAU     West Side
Our family has been attending Main Street for two and a half years. We were immediately welcomed in and felt a sense of belonging. Main Street has given our family many opportunities to connect with  people through small groups, Sunday School, and outreaches. As parents, we are so encouraged that our children feel they belong and look forward to going. We are so pleased to be part of such a great church family.

DAVID GERO & HEIDI MILNERGERO    Millidgeville
We've been going to Main Street for about 2 years now. From the first day, we were welcomed by people who soon became our friends. We have had opportunities to serve in the youth and drama ministries of the church and we appreciate the many ways the church serves its community.  Main Street has a vision to help bring "Greater Things" to the lives of its members and to the city of Saint John, and we want to be a part of it.

RODD & DENICE COPP     Quispamsis
When we moved to the Saint John area 5 years ago it was important for us to find a vibrant and nurturing church family that we felt we could become a part of.  Main Street Church, with its friendliness, energy, and diversity, soon became that family. The church has an inspiring vision and Sunday services that are uplifting and encouraging, with messages that are relevant and meaningful, as we think about facing life's challenges and opportunities.

SUSAN BAMBURY     West Side
I remember the feeling of being warmly welcomed the first time I came to Main Street.  I had no idea that first Sunday, about nine years ago, how richly blessed my life and the lives of my husband and our children would become. Main Street to us is family and a wonderful place for all of us to belong.  I have the awesome opportunity to serve in ministry with youth and it has forever changed my life.  We love "doing life" with people we love and growing in faith with a Saviour we need.

KELLY (SHAW) ROGERS:     Grandbay-Westfield
Main Street has been an exciting place to be over the past few years.  We have enjoyed connecting here with other young adults, and developing lifelong friendships through our small group. Each week, we are challenged by the teaching as the pastoral staff focuses on current and relevant issues.  We feel at home here, and we look forward to being a part of the vision this church has to overflow God's love to the city of Saint John.

STEVE & CHRISTINE COOPER      Millidgeville
We have attended Main Street Church for about 8 months now and I can still remember the numerous friendly people who welcomed us. Since then we have come to know and enjoy the many friendships that have developed. We are continually challenged and inspired by the worship and teaching. Main Street's commitment to serving its community and each other is refreshing to witness. I am excited to see how God will use us here at MS.

BILL LONDON     Rothesay
As a child, I attended this church with my parents, as an adult I've attended with my wife and we've raised our children as a part of the Main Street family.  We live in Rothesay, but we've maintained our connection with Main Street because of the encouragement we receive from the teaching here and because of the close friendships we've developed over the years.  One thing that we've always appreciated about this church is its commitment to growing relationships.

KATHY PAGE     Quispamsis
For almost ten years, Main Street Church has been my family - a beautifully diverse community of people who have nurtured me, challenged me and taught me what it means to serve. I am growing here in an environment charged by passion and purpose. I look forward to the future with great expectation, believing the best is yet to come!

ROSALIE MCMULLIN     West Side
Every week I look forward to attending Main Street because I know I will experience God's presence in a meaningful way.  It gives me an extra boost to see so many people who are still interested in developing the spiritual part of their lives--some who are trying to decide if there really is a God, others who are just beginning to develop faith, and others who have attended Main Street for several years.   I love being part of a Church where every person is accepted.

RUTH HOYT & STAN BEAL     Millidgeville
We have attended Main Street Church for 12 years.  One of the things that impressed us the most was the community outreach program.  The church serves those who need it the most and follows "Love your neighbor as you love yourself".  Main Street also encouraged us to grow in our faith.    We have done this by serving with the Youth, going on Mission Tours, helping with Hope Mission, and hosting a Life Group.

ANDREA AND ERIC SABEAN      South End
just a few months ago our 13 month old daughter became very sick and was air lifted to the IWK to undergo lifesaving surgery.  Along with our families helping at home, our church family came along side and covered us in prayer and supported us through encouraging messages, phone calls, donations, meals and visits both at home and in Halifax.  Our hearts have been touched by how God moved through his people at Main Street.

DON & SANDRA GRAHAM     Millidgeville
I have attended MS on and off for more than 60 years. I think back on the fun I had at Cubs and later in Boy Scouts. There was always something exciting to do. Now at MS there is truly something for ever one, from infants to Seniors. It's a great place to meet new friends and greet old ones. My wife and I feel like we have finally returned home after being away following our chosen careers. Thanks MS for all the great memories we now have.

TRENA DAVIDSON  East Side
In 1972 I joined Main Street along with my parents and brother Neal. I found a loving, caring church family at Main Street. Since we were formerly North-Enders, we were happy to be a part of a ministry to North End people, called Prime Time. Our church has been so good to us and it is a wonderful place to feel like you belong.

MABEL CAMPBELL     Millidgeville
When WW II ended my husband and I married and moved to Saint John. After visiting several churches we made Main Street our home church. We were baptized in June 1950 and over the years enjoyed the many ministeries and fellowship of Main Street. I still look forward to attending each Sunday.

SALLY CRAIG K-Park
This was a really bad summer for me. I lost my husband, soulmate and best friend of 39 years. Then to top it off, my beautiful old Golden Retriever's life came to end.  The good part of this story is to tell you about my amazing LifeGroup. They drew me close with their prayres and love, caring phone calls, wonderful meals, good visits and talks.  They were there for me when I didn't want to be alone and we sat and watched the beautiful sunsets on the Kennebecasis. I got to know these folks on a deeper level, and I really and truly understand and appreciate what it means to be a part of a LifeGroup and to be a member of the Main Street family.

KATHLEEN HANNA     North End
I was drawn to Main Street Church through the Hope Mission, which has helped me not only with food and clothing, but with Spiritual growth as well.  I have made many lasting friendship there.  After attending Main Street for a few years I became involved with the choir, which I love passionately.  I find the more I get involved in Main Street, the more God enriches my life.

MICAH & KATRINA WILLIAMSON       Westfield                                                                  The people at Main Street Baptist Church mean a lot to us. We have celebrated good times together and cried together in hard times. Our children are excited about going to church. They look forward to seeing their friends and learning about God through fun activities. We are thankful to be part of Main Street where we can grow in our understanding of Jesus Christ and what he wants for our lives.

DIANE ROUSE     Millidgeville
Main Street has always been an important part of my life. My parents brought me as a small child and then I attended with my children. Working with the children in Sunday School and the many friendships I have enjoyed over the years have enriched my life immensely. I am blessed to be part of a church family that values and cares for each person.

DEBBIE HUGHES     Millidgeville
We have attended Main Street for 8 years with our 5 children. The kids love the library, Sunday school and the children's programs. We truly enjoy the services, adult Sunday school classes and our life groups. It has been a real growing experience. There is always something new to learn and always ways to get involved. It's a place we want to be, not have to be, every Sunday!

MIKE & SHERRY DUNCAN     Rothesay
We have been attending Main Street for 3 years, and we knew from the first service we attended that this was a special place and we felt thankful to be a part of it.  What excited us the most about Main Street and continues to do so today is the unwavering commitment of the Pastoral Staff and Church Family to serve the community of Saint John without any other agenda other than to show God's love to others free from any judgement.

CYNTHIA SHAW     Millidgeville
Over 35 years I have been blessed with a warm, loving church filled with special friends with welcoming arms to be there in times of celebration and in times of need. What a tremendous influence that has had on my life.  It has given me a wonderful passion for those who are less fortunate and the opportunity to help them. I so thankful for my beautiful family, a wonderful church family, and great church leadership.

BJ & CORINNE MACDONALD     Millidgeville
We were first attracted to Main Street Church because of the rich worship experience, excellent programs for children, friendliness of the congregation and wonderful opportunities for service. We have come to appreciate the role of the church in building community. Church to us is about relationships; strengthening our relationship with God and others. We are blessed to be part of a growing church that continues to stay relevant without compromising its core beliefs and values.

HEATHER McPHERSON     East Side
I have been coming to Main Street for about nine years now. The first time I came was as a guest on friend day and I have never left.  I have had many special times at this church.  I was married here three years ago, and both my son and I have been baptized here. There is so many wonderful things to be apart of here. What I love most about Main Street is its desire to share Gods love with everyone.

ED & CHRISTINE REEVEY & FAMLY     Rothesay
We are regular attenders of Main Street Church. We have three daughters who enjoy attending Sunday School and their Children's programs each week.  These programs are helping us as parents to lay a strong foundation for the years to come. We are  also involved in a Life Group at Main Street, which has helped us to get to know others on a more intimate level.  Our family feels blessed to be a part of such a wonderful Church.

JIM SHAW     Millidgeville
Main Street has been my rock for many years now. For every mountaintop and valley experience, Main Street, it's people and pastors have been there to stand by me; my marriage, my baptism, the baptism of my wife and children, and the death of my Mom and Dad.  I feel I need the weekly grounding that Main Street offers me to keep my focus and my priorities where they ought to be.

LYDIA TONG     Millidgeville
I have attended Main Street Church for 32 years and I am loving it.  I love the diverse Christian ministries that our church offers.  I can always count on an inspired-scripture based message each week.  I am grateful for the many new friends I have met and particularly for the ways that the church members embrace and welcome new immigrants and university students.

KOREY NIXON AND ANNA LONDON     K-Park
Main Street Church feels like an extended family to us. With the recent birth of our first child, we have been overwhelmed by the love, support, and generosity of our church family.  We look forward to raising our daughter as part of the caring, thoughtful, and diverse community at Main Street.

BILL SHAW     Millidgeville
I have been a member of Main Street Church for all of my life. The most meaningful thing about the church is how it's people have reached out to me at times when I needed an understanding and compassionate embrace. Most notably has been around the time of my parent's deaths. I was cared for, loved and ministered to in a way that made me know God was in the middle of my grief.

JOSHUA HAMILTON     West Side
Main Street Church means a lot to me because all of the people I know at Sunday School are cool. There are eight kids in my class, and sometimes we get treats and we get to have our own web site too.  There are a lot of people in our church. I like to hold the door on Sundays; people say thanks and it makes me smile.

NEAL DAVIDSON     East Side
I joined Main Street 38 years ago as a young adult and have always felt at home here.
I have grown in my faith through the teaching and worship ministries of the church.
One thing I appreciate is the loving outreach to the Old North End where I grew up.
Main Street is my church family.

VANESSA TRACY     West Side
I have attended Main Street since I was a little girl, and it has always been home to me.  During good times and bad, I am comforted in knowing I can always count on my church family for support.  I have been given the opportunity to teach Sunday school to Kindergarten children during the past several years and the joy I receive from their excitement over learning about God is beyond measure.

NORINE LONG     Millidgeville
Main Street has been my church home for many years. It has been a privilege to bring up our 3 children in a church which values everyone at every age with great programs and caring volunteers.  My family have been loved and supported throughout each stage of their lives.  Main Street is a place where everyone is welcomed.  I look forward with great excitement to what God is going to do through our "beautiful community" in the future.

JEREMY HIGGINS     Millidgeville
My family's time at Main Street Baptist is going on 2 years. It quickly became apparent that Main Street Church is a place that reaches out to the entire community. It is an avenue that allows people to not only receive charity (love), but more importantly the peace of heart that comes from giving charity. "And now abides faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

JEAN RICHARD     North End
About 15 years ago, not long after I made a commitment to serve God, God gave me a specific vision.   It was through two different ministries at  Main Street I got to see that vision come true.  I became part of the music team at the Hope Mission and have been for a few years now.   I now believe that God's vision for me was true because he is true and faithful. I am thankful that God can use even a little person like me in some big ways.  I am excited about what God is doing through all of us.

HEATHER HAMILTON     West Side
My family and I attend Main Street Church because we can see God at work here and we can feel his presence in his people and the tasks that they do. I have made life long friendships here and when it came time to hire staff for my business I found myself with 10 members of Main Street.

LYNN MCLELLAN    Millidgeville
I started going to Main Street nine years ago as a university student seeking direction. I remember being struck by how friendly everyone was - it almost seemed fake at the time - but I knew it was real. Never before had I witnessed such energy and enthusiasm for the Christian faith. There is something magnetic about Main Street. Walking through those doors for the first time is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

TIM & AMY HATT     North End
In the four and a half years that we have been going to Main Street Church we feel blessed to have become a part of a supportive and loving family that works together to grow in our faith and to serve God by serving others.

KAREN WILSON     North End
When I was a child I grew up in the North end near this Main Street Church and I was invited to Vacation Bible School.  Years later when I moved back to the North End, I became involved in the Neighbourhood Hope Mission.  Now I am truly a blessed member of this church family.  Main Street continues to be very friendly and supportive.

DON & HELEN BREEN     Rothesay
The mainstay in our lives, is our church.  Main Street is a warm, loving, caring church.  We are constantly amazed at the programs offered - from the nursery to the young adults and even for seniors.  It is indeed an inclusive family church.

JILL NYLEN     West Side
I am thankful that we have found our closest friends and family at Main Street.  Moving to Saint John 10 years ago we knew no one, now we are "home." Also, our kids love going to church, they have made such good friends here. Finally, our whole family has found the opportunity to serve others. Our children are learning the importance of giving.

JEAN WHITE     West Side
Sooooo I've been at Main Street for 77 years and it never grows old, Main Street is home.  Even as a senior citizen I'm still learning there, more about Jesus, I'm still welcomed and loved.  I'm made to feel very much a part of this loving community.  It's a privilege to worship there each week and not be forgotten during the week.

BLAIR CLARK     West Side
My first experience at Main Street Church was four years ago when I attended a Christmas musical there.  A co-worker (who is now my wife) had invited me.  I knew there was something special about the place.  I work in the nursery now, and what an amazing experience.  I love having "little ones" comes and be exposed to the teachings of God.  It's amazing!

BLAIR THOMPSON   Quispamsis
When I arrived at Main Street five years ago I encountered a very friendly, welcoming and encouraging place. I have come to appreciate many things about Main Street - its multi-generational, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, and its commitment to serve God and the community. It is so much fun to serve at Main Street alongside so many excited and enthusiastic people.

GREG BAMBURY     West Side
I am very thankful for the relationships, connections and personal growth that have resulted through attending and becoming more involved with Main Street Church. My experience here has been nothing less then transformational. Weekly, in simple, practical, relevant ways, I discover more about what it truly means to be a Christian man, husband, father, and friend in our society in 2010. Since our very first Sunday, Main Street has been an awesome blessing to our family.

WANDA DODDS      West Side
I moved to Saint John 6 years ago.  I intended to visit many churches before I decided on the one I would attend.  I went to Main Street Church first, I loved the singing and preaching...I felt at home!  I got involved in various groups, including our outreach to the Old North End.  I made so many friends, which was just great for someone new to the city.

SUE CLARK     West Side
Main Street Church has been my home since I was born.  As a child and teenager, the relationships I built with friends and mentors have had a huge impact on the person I am today.  Over the years, I have found numerous ways to serve and be a part of great things.  Now, as a parent, it is truly a blessing to know that my children have so many people who care about them.  It's a privilege to "do life" with my church family here at Main Street!

BILL & HASELL KERR     Millidgeville
We settled at the church that gave us the friendliest welcome, Main Street Church.  Now we have an extended church family where we receive encouragement, support and acceptance.  Main Street Church is vibrant, God-centered and friendly with many new families joining. As a couple our worship has led us to serve on short term  mission trips, our neighbourhood mission, life group, and tutoring English as a second language. There really is something for everyone here.

ISABEL TEED    North End
Main Street has been my Church home since 1940.  Growing up in the Church I enjoyed the many programs offered, sang in the Choir, made lasting friendships and enjoyed the warm fellowship of our congregation.  I have always felt accepted here, I have been encouraged through all of my life's situations, and I have been blessed by the teaching of my Pastors.

LOUISE KILLAM     North End
I have attended Main Street Church for eleven years now and I find the people there very loving and caring.  They have prayed for me when I needed prayer and they have a vision for the future.  I am very thankful for my Church family at Main Street.

ROB & MELISSA HETHERINGTON & FAMILY    West Side
We have been attending Main Street since 2001 and  have become sold out to the vision of this "beautiful" church and love serving and being a part of what's going on there.  Our 3 kids love this church too.  This past year we even decided to move our family into the city to be closer to our church community.  We are thrilled to be part of Main Street and we look forward to continuing the journey.

FRED & BARB DICKINSON      East Side
Main Street has been our church home for a little over two years.  We like the emphasis on sharing the good news about Jesus Christ while at the same time meeting practical needs in the community.  The worship services are informal and the pastors are known on a first name basis.  Even after following Christ for over 40 years, we still find the Sunday messages fresh and meaningful.

HEATHER COLLICUTT
I've been attending Main Street Church for almost 10 years now.  I find the pastors communicate the hope, compassion and love of God clearly in their messages each week and that has helped me in my relationship with God.  The church family talks about the love of God but also shows it in the many ways they care for each other and their community.

DARLENE VERNER      North End
I have attended Main Street Church and the Hope Mission for 8 years.  I have made many friends and the worship services inspire me and make me a better person.  When my mother died last winter the church brought sandwiches and sweets to the hospital, prayed with us and supported us in many ways. I love it at Main Street with all my heart.

ROSE YOUNG     North End
At a time in my life when I felt alone and lost, I found Main Street.  Upon entering the front doors I discovered beautiful, caring, faithful and devoted people.  Here I found a Christian family for me.  In this place I am spiritually guided by many.  I find these ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the name of Christ.  "We are all welcome here."

AMY & DAVID RUSSELL     Millidgeville
We moved to Saint John a year ago and felt welcome from day one at Main Street.  Every Sunday we are excited to go to church thinking of all the friendly people we will see there.  At Main Street we are able to meet everyone from babies and children to young adults to seniors.  There is a great mix of people who made us feel accepted and welcome by picking us out of the crowd every Sunday.

KEVIN MUNROE     Millidgeville
Main Street has provided me the opportunity to serve God in a number of ways, especially working with youth.  I have taught Sunday School, Youth Group, and went on several mission tours in Canada and the US. These experiences have opened up new opportunities to continue to share God's love and work with youth both here at home and internationally.

DAVE MUNRO     East Side
I attended Main Street for the first time 11 years ago and immediately felt at home due to the warm reception that I received. I wasn't sure if it was real at first but as time passed, I realized that's just the way it is at Main Street. It doesn't matter where you are from or what your background is. Everyone really is welcome. I have made so many friends by being involved in some of the many Church ministries. These connections and activities continue to give my life purpose and it is a real privilege to be a member of such a great Church.

DICK McALEER     West Side
I became a volunteer at Main Street shortly after the Neighbourhood Hope Mission began, and I started to see a wonderful change happening in many people's lives through the devotionals and fellowship we shared. I love the opportunity Main Street gives me to make a difference in people's lives.

CHRIS HANNAH
I started going to Main Street about six years ago. My job as truck driver made it hard to attend on a regular basis. I had a heart attack two years ago which left me unemployed and got me thinking more about my life, which led me to get baptised at Main Street that same year. They supported me when I went back to school to be a chef and now I am a cooking for a living thanks in part to Main Street.

KELLY MUNROE     Millidgeville
I have attended Main Street Church for 25 years, and I cannot tell you how many people I have met and have become good friends with.  I have had the privilege of serving in many ways, and even in other countries.  All of these experiences have allowed me to become great friends with so many.  I continue to look forward to what God has in store for me in the future.

More stories from a few of our great youth:

EMILY RICKETTS     Millidgeville
I am a high school student and have attended Main Street my whole life.  Being a teenager I know that life gets tough, but at Main Street we have an amazing Youth Pastor and leaders that are there.  J-Walkers and Transformers are our youth groups for middle and high school students.  These groups have changed my life.

THOMAS BROWN     North End
When I started going to Main Street Church I was at a rough point in my life.  The only reason I agreed to go to church then was because my Mother promised to buy me donuts afterwards!  I am so glad that eight years later I am still here.  Throughout my years at youth group, volunteering and working at the church, I have made countless friends and learned so much.  Main Street means so much to me and it is my second home.

Tyler McLaughlin - Bailey     East Side
When I first came to Main Street, it was the first time I'd set foot in a church ever.  I didn't know anything about church then, I was only six and I didn't believe in God.  I have been coming to this church for nine years now and it did change me.  I wish I had come at a younger age so I could have known more about heaven.

Mackenzie Gillespie-Tracey      West Side
Main Street is like my second home and family.  I have been involved in Christmas plays, Sunday School and kids choir.  Main Street is a great way for everyone to connect with God.

Robyn Hall     North End
I've been coming to Main Street since I was a newborn, and my family has been coming for years before that.  I have been a part of Sunday School, Youth Group, Kidz Choir, Son City and volunteering in the nursery.  I was baptized at the age of seven.  To me, Main Street is a welcoming family.  It is about building friendships and bonds with our each other and God.

Rachelle Hamilton     West Side
I first started coming to Main Street when I was three years old.  My favorite thing about Main Street is that you are always welcomed. I will always enjoy coming to Main Street and listening to the worship music.  I am now seventeen and am more involved with the church.

Jacob Page     Quispamsis
I came to Main Street for the first time when I was in grade four, I'm now in grade twelve.  When I first walked in the church I knew it was going to be a great church full of great people.  It was then, and it still is now.

Jonathan Knight     SJ East
When I first came to Main Street I was very nervous, but it didn't take long for that nervousness to turn to comfort.  I'm genuinely comfortable being myself at Main Street. It's a place where people love and accept you.  Coming from a teenager, this church is a happening place and a great church for young and old.  I think this church does a great job of centering around love.....love for people and love for God.  Through the Youth Ministries of Main Street I have really been able to grow in my faith and make some great friends.  Main Street feels like a second home.
